How to delete many ChatGPT chats at once

In ChatGPT you can delete a chat from its own menu, or clear every chat at once from Settings. Picking twenty old chats and removing just those takes twenty trips through the menu.

Before you delete

Deleted chats cannot be brought back.
If you only want a shorter list, archive chats instead. Archived chats leave the sidebar but stay in your account.
Export anything you want to keep.

Delete a chosen set of chats with Foldwell Pro

Add Foldwell to Chrome, sign in to chatgpt.com and open the Foldwell side panel.
Tick the chats you want to remove. You can tick them in folders and in the list of chats not yet filed.
Click Delete from ChatGPT and confirm.
Reload the ChatGPT tab to see the shorter list.

Foldwell deletes the chats one at a time through your signed in ChatGPT session and tells you if any could not be deleted. Chats you did not tick are not touched.

Keep the good ones first. File the chats you want to keep into folders, then tick the rest from the Not in a folder yet list. That way nothing you care about is in the selection.

The same steps work for Claude. Gemini chats need to be deleted from Gemini's own menu.
